We actually wanted to drive through the city twice on the hop-on, hop-off bus; the bus driver is such a chatterbox that we would need two laps to take it all in. But yes... After an exciting day in Dublin, we head west in a rental car for left-hand drivers. The gear lever on the left takes some getting used to for the driver, but the worse thing is the far too narrow streets after we leave the motorway; and when a tractor comes towards us, we have to cover our ears. But we are in no hurry and have all the time in the world...

Along the coast from Killala towards Mullet lies "Céide Fields" where prehistoric boundary markers consisting of stones piled up in rows were found under a 5 metre thick layer of peat. Their age is estimated at around 5000 years.
